A LETTER TO CARL LEWIS

ANIMAL ADVOCATES FROM BELGRADE HAVE SENT A LETTER TO CARL LEWIS on February 07. 2006. (regarding his arival to Belgrade)

Dear Carl Lewis,

We want to ask you to please be the voice of voiceless to stand on the side of the Animals that you love so much.

We write to you because we recently obtained information

that you planed to visit Belgrade in June 2006.

You are invited by Belgrade's Athlete Club "Partizan"

to be a star of Athlete event ""Artur Takac Memorial"

Due to the fact that your upcoming visit to that country is being used as an excuse for that government to round-up and kill, in horribly cruel ways

(clubbing to death, poisoning… shooting, burning and hanging…) stray dogs and other animals witch live on Belgrade Streets.

The reason for this brutal massacre is "clean streets" for tourists.

Animals are not garbage, Belgrade is dirty city and Animals are just helping to clean those dirty streets. They are not pests to be exterminated,

Programs are offered, for humane stray animal control, but Belgrade city officials are found for killing Animals, thats what past 10 years have showed...

Many World Animal Advocates have followed this country's sorrowful treatment of Animals for over 4 years now, and we are utterly disgusted that Belgrade use celebrities to make excuses for brutality and varvarism.

Dear Carl, please speak out loud for the suffering,

the poisoning, the burning,

the clubbing and stoning of innocent Animals.

Please ask from Serbian Athletes

and managers of "Partizan" to urge Belgrade officials

to STOP killing innocent Animals.

Please ask Serbian Athletes to involve in noble cause, just like you are involved in them.

Teach them how to be caring and compassionate-

like you are.
