SOS for SHELTER EPAR

Dear friends of animals all over the world, We need your help !!!

Berkes Istvan build inspector sent by Local authorities of Subotica, on authorities command issued written demand for DEMOLITION of all dog houses along with our legal dog shelter in Subotica –with 450 dogs inside.

This dog shelter is legal, we built it in despite to all difficulties we had, because only OIPA organization helped us in this project.

Now we are short for 43 houses required for our 43 dominant dogs that are unfairly on chains- since they cannot be together with other dogs as they would fight.

Our shelter needs 43 new houses but we have no money now for construction- and we have no other choice but to ask for help from you, in hope that as soon as possible these dogs will have houses/boxes and a better life too.

Our difficult situation inspector Istvan used against us and animals residing in our shelter when he gave a command to destroy all boxes/houses that we have now, because as he said our wooden houses do not have a building permit??! But what will happen with dogs after demolition? Where will 450 dogs go after this and where will they live?

When we, (as nonprofit nongovernmental organization for protection of animal rights), asked for help from Republic and local authorities and offered cooperation, they refused both. We asked for help from President of Serbia-Mr. Boris Tadic, from Prime Minister of Serbia-Mr.Vojislav Kostunica, from Minister of capital investments &  –Mr. Velimir Ilic, from Director of veterinary union ministr. Privrede -Mr.Dejan Krnjaic. Nobody answered on our requests, but Mr.Dejan Krnjaic said: "if you want to protect animals you must pay the amount we requested from you or dogs must be killed by “humane euthanasia”- with T-61".

Authorities did not want to vaccinate our dogs against rabies- when we ask-when it was needed, but they asked from us to pay 3.450 euros, in despite of Law of veterinary in witch is stated that anti-rabies vaccination must be paid from budget of Republic Serbia.

No, we are not paranoid and we are not panicking, we just want to be responsible, because request for dog shelter to be destroyed is right in front of us-on our table and we will stay firm and will not give our Dog shelter to be destroyed!

Local authorities have a scenario how to destroy our hard work: building inspector requested in written form for dog houses/boxes at the shelter to be destroyed.

When we insisted our dogs to be vaccinated against rabies, vet. Inspectors requested from us to pay 3.450 euros-If we don’t pay this amount -dogs will be without rabies vaccinations, and then authorities will kill all dogs, because by this scenario, murder of 450 dogs would appear legal. This way, authorities, local and republic will not have problems with The International Criminal Court at The Hague, since dogs were not vaccinated against rabies.

Authorities are aware that we prepared a criminal charge against them and will take them to Court in Hague.

We hope that you can help, as you helped in our action for dog shelter Valjevo.

These 170 dogs we have rescued with your help. Without your help we could not do much for those 170 dogs in Valjevo city. Thank you - to all of you, who participated in this action for Animals from Valjevo -these 170 dogs are now saved, rescued.

Action in Valjevo will be finished when Valjevo authorities stop killing dogs and cats.

We will keep you posted about this case, but for now, situation at dog shelter Valjevo is under our control.

Now , we feel ashamed, but we desperately need help for dog shelter in Subotica, www.epar.org.yu, because  authorities want to destroy it along with 450 dogs residing there.

They want to punish us with such a high price- which we can not pay now. Our organization for animal protection did nothing wrong, did nothing opposite to Laws, they just want to eliminate us from this battle- because we brought many criminal charges against those involved in animal murders, not they want to punish and destroy our organization for animal protection.

Forgive me on this long letter, but I tried to explain this bizarre situation in which  our organization is now, and our dog shelter, and all is happening as a revenge of  authorities, this might be very dangerous situation for dogs in shelter, if local authorities win this battle and destroy all our work.
