Subject: RABIES !!! RABIES ??? WITHOUT QURANTINE, WITHOUT VACCINATION - JUST MASS BRUTAL KILLING OF ANIMALS
Dear friends of animals,please help to the animals in this horrible situation!
Veterinary Director of Serbia, Mr.Dejan Krnjaic, handed down a decision which pronounces Vranje : 30-th November 2006.and Svilajnac, 12.-th December, area contaminated with rabies, after hunters had allegedly killed one fox - in Svilajnac ,and found a dead one fox in the forest in Vranje , and allegedly were proved that they were infected with rabies.
The same decision ordered instead of at least 18 measures given in the Veterinary Law, article 64., only 1 measur under number 3 in this document - for which he made a circle, and that is extermination of stray cats and dogs citing The Regulations 39/ 1988, valid in SFRJ ( ex ex Yugoslavia) in 1988. year, which is not in accordance with Veterinary Law of Republic Serbia 91/2005.
Although this wild animal- fox , in two cases , was infected with rabies , Veterinary Director did not order per oral anirabies vaccination of wild animals by putting baits with vaccine, he left wild animals unprotected with possibility of spreading rabies among them, as well as people and domestic animals.He ordered killing all of wild animals in area with diameter 6 kilometer, too.
If the virus of rabies is realy present in those areas, all people and animals are in danger to life, because farm animals are not protect, traffic and transport of farm animals, transport of products of animals go free without any control ,because Veterinary Director did not apply all the measures given in the Law of veterinary., article 64, but only one- killing of all stray cats and dogs. From the epidemiological point of view, killing strays , without realy quarantine for all area, cannot protect people and environment from the rabies.
If, however, the danger does not exist and because of that Director of Veterinary did nor order all the measures stated in article 64. of Law of Veterinary, but only one- mass killing of stray cats and dogs- he made a circle only of this measure - and vet inspector of Vranje made only this in Vranje: mass killing of stray cats and dogs, and in Svilajnac will do the same- and mass killing of strays financed from the township budget ( 6000 to 10 000 din per dog or cat ; 1 euro=80 din ) can anyone assume what it is all about ....
Please help to the animals , and to people , too .Stop this horrible mass killing of strays and mass killing of wild animals, and insist on antirabic vaccination all domestic and willd animals , because all of them love life, and love to be healty, and people- but here are people in danger , too .There are not desinfection bariere on ways, no one control punct, trafic and transpor of product of farms animals go free-wholesale trade, from area in which is rabies- there is no quarantine
Please write protest letters to responsible persons of Serbia and of those two cities: You can rescue many of animals if You write only these paar sentences for example:

Sirs , we insist on implementation of article 64 of Law of veterinary - without mass killing of animals , we insist on antirabic vaccination and protect people with esteem all of animals , and protection all of animals from rabies.
