OK. it is NOT posible to require a girrafe for 45.000 euros and ship it from Chicago, over Luxemburg into Serbia! and after a "solid" information (in media) from Dragan -Mayor of Jagodina: "Chicago give away a Giraffe to Jagodina Zoo (serbia)..." we are very upset to see that someone openly stating that a girafe (as a gift) came from Chicago to Jagodina!? as is stated in many newspapers here in Serbia- "some wealthy person" bought a giraffe in Chicago (for 45.000 euros) and now donated it to serbia?? Media named him "Jovancha" a misterious donator is a company from belgrade "MB Gas" (they trade a storige gass) and the owner of company is a personal friend of mayor Dragan Palma (Jagodina). Bojovic (belgrade zoo director) stated: "jagodina zoo will be a station for studies on exsotic animals" !!?? and he will donate an aligator too. have you seen a video- (scroll the page down) http://www.mondo.rs/s164554/Hronika_i_Drustvo/Jagodina_docekala_zirafu_Jovancu.html  look where this zoo is- see houses around! ? - its a village! Mayor of Jagodina said: this enlosure for a girafe- is under EU standards??on "10 acres" with hight- 12 meters He also said that kids voted which animals they want to see in zoo, and thathe expect to see more than 40.000 visitirs to come to see "new attraction" !? PROFIT!PROFIT! THATS WHAT ZOO WANTS! this is not a zoo.. its a farm! We need a solid proff that giraffe did not came from this source, and to ask of Mayor of Jagodina how did he required this giraffe.. (from video/on TV I saw- that giraffe is and was very frightened, young /aprox. 6 months old.. ..)

March 24. 2010. I think this story is completely false. Accredited zoos in the U.S. are not allowed to sell animals to private individuals. They are allowed to sell giraffes to other zoos, but there is no logical reason why a species as easily bred in captivity as either a Masai or reticulated giraffe would be purchased from Chicago by a zoo in Serbia, when either species could be purchased relatively nearby. Giraffes are notoriously difficult to transport safely, so most zoos acquire new giraffes from the closest possible place. Luxembourg does not even have an international airport, so there is no logical reason at all for Luxembourg to be involved in the transaction, if such a transaction occurred in the first place. Possibly the giraffe did come from a dealer in Luxembourg, but almost certainly the giraffe did not come from Chicago. The transaction would violate AZA policy, as well as common sense, and even if someone was to ship a giraffe from the U.S. to Serbia, there is no reason for the giraffe to go through Luxembourg en route. Nonetheless, this is the story published today by Serbian news media, apparently based on claims by the Jagodina Zoo staff. -

Action: Prevention of the massacre of abandoned animals- In the forthcoming days of huge sport event: “Belgrade Univesiade 2009.” (July 01. – 12. 2009.)

 Over the past years Belgrade was very busy City, many big events had happened in Belgrade like, Eurovision contest, EYOF... and now, the Sport Universiade 2009. Every event of this magnitude brings out the best and the worst sides of one City and (with it) of one Nation… Authorities and Citizens hopes are to show the quality and openness of their City in their best manners.. But sadly- many of those efforts fall under the expected norms simply because there is no chance to hide what it CANT be hidden (like poverty, city’s bad zones and dirt, homeless people and abandoned animals .. ) Abandoned animals were victims (sacrificed for the event), killed for the sake of “clean streets” !? This year- we tried a little bit different approach, we had a bad experience because the Authorities were repeating the massacre of unwanted animals year after year.. And this time we are trying to stop the massacre before it begins. 

June the 1^st 2009.  The meeting was held to reinforce the tactics to prevent the mass execution of unwanted/ street dogs -with the main purpose of “street cleaning” before the major event Universiade 2009. is to begin.. Streets are to be “cleaned” for the foreign sportiest and visitors of Belgrade (sadly- Belgrade citizens gets clean streets only in time of some major events like this one).

Meeting was held between people who care for streets dogs (activists and common citizens involved in the rescue of abandoned animals), one rescue organization from Belgrade (EI 17) and Leading man (chosen by Authorities for this occasion) Vlada Terzin from secretariat of communal services and his two people which he choose for this action.

 Our mutual goal is to preserve dogs on streets, not to remove them.

 The Conclusion of this meeting was NOT to remove dogs from their habitat (the Belgrade’s streets … ) but to move them from the itinerary route (the routes which are chosen to be routes used for the purposes of upcoming UNIVERSIADE 2009. )  This action is to be coordinated between Secretariat for communal services Team and the group of Dog care takers from Belgrade (from all areas which are in the Universiade itinerary).  

Care Takers assignment is to relocate “problematic categories” of dogs and to prepare them self’s for patrolling in their areas when Universiade begins (to play some kind of “tampon zone” role between foreign visitors, citizens and dogs on streets) .

Second meeting will be held between Vlado Terzin Team and Care Takers. > Coordinators that have been chosen on meeting held on June 1^st 2009. ,

Purpose of next meeting is to resolve the problem of “aggressive dogs” or other categories of dogs and other problems care takers could face in forthcoming action. Notorious Ovca kill pound is “on hold” - which means this facility will not be used for killing, but instead is now changed into open vet. Ambulance (which will be under our monitoring), veterinary station Belgrade is also “on hold” which means they too are restricted , no killing policy is now on power and this facility is to be used only for aiding needs.

We are not sure will this policy be on power trough all action, but we will be monitoring it and we hope that the word which Vlado Terzin gave to us- that NO DOG WILL BE KILLED FOR NO REASON- will have full effect. Caretakers will give their best- we will patrol and do all is asked from us…and  if there are aggressive dogs- we will relocate them somewhere (we hope to reserve “dog apartments” or similar /dog shelters are full- but we will try with tem too if first option fails ) .We are hoping that this will be the start of one new chapter- with the Animal Police Team which is to be formed in future, with our volunteers and other animal lovers involved- This is just one new page to be opened.. Varieties and new possibilities are in front of us, Belgrade activists will be involved deeply from now on…This time, we hope not to see dogs sacrificed in the name of sport, and to get more involved into decision making how to save dogs on Belgrade streets.

 Action planed is:  to "buy out" horses, to be precise to exchange them for small "thomos moto bikes" (or something simmilar that is not expensive)...
These horses are "driven" into city center and are in danger-city centers are bussy and full of noise and dangerous fumes and gases... These horses live in poverty and work all day, they are in poor health stage and are deprived from medical attention (they never saw a vet.), They dont have proper living conditions and dont have proper food and water source. These Horses are starved and overused-They live one short and poor life- THEY NEED HELP!

  Belgrade Pigeons / February 2009.

Nikola Tesla was obsessed with pigeons, ordering special seeds for the pigeons he fed in the park. There was one white pigeon, the female, that was so precious to him. One day the white pigeon got sick. Nikola took very good care of it, but it died in his arms. Nikola was not a very religious man, as he believed that there must be a scientific explanation for everything. But when that white pigeon died, he saw a very bright light coming out of her eyes, so bright that he told his friends afterwards, that even he could not have managed to create so luminous a light. It made him believe that the white pigeon must have been a messenger of a great spirit... I read that story to my young daughter recently, while we were in the library. On another note, in my dreams I live in higher dimension, where everything is transparent, like a gel. I am able to see through people, walls, etc., if only I could find the words to share my experiences. Hopefully 2003 will be the year others can finally see their dreams, the pictures in their heads, exactly as we do, on the screen. That was the kind of machine Nikola Tesla hoped to create, or might or possibly did. He allegedly never drew a blueprint for any of his inventions. He saw them in his mind already complete, to the point he could turn them at different angles watching them work. It is said that his inventions were always perfect. With this petition, we the undersigned are urging the director and editors of National Television «Radio Televizija Srbije» (RTS) to stop promoting and glorofiing the inhumane and sensless killing of Animals for hunters' pleasure and profit (or in the name of so called «sport» which hunting is NOT ) .

Serbian Citizens pleaded and pleaded, called editors in RTS and explained how emotionaly disturbed they become after seeing that «show» on TV (our children tears and emotional disstress CANT be ignored no more).  We- the citizens, asked for those TV shows dedicated to hunters to be scechuled (broadcasted) in some other time and NOT ( like now ) in prime time (in the afternoon when kids are watching) but our pleas were ignored. Why National Tv station treated Serbian citizens like they are someone who does not deserve to state oppinion and to voice concerns about innapropriate programe on RTS? On our pleas, to at least, move this morning show dedicated to hunters to some late night time we got same anwers from several editors: «change the channel if you dont like what you see!» or «there are so many hunters they want to see hunting shows on TV» (by that rude statement, does it mean that rapists and child abusers should also get their show on national TV channel %u2013 as Serbia is full of abusers too?! ) NOTE: Srbian citizens are paying fees to National TV, RTS claim that they are in service of citizens, therefore we are fully empowered to demand that shows dedicated to hunters be taken off the progam of National TV.

With this petition, we are urging the director and editors of Radio televizija Srbije (RTS) to take off  «shows» dedicated to glorify hunters and are stating that we will start BOYCOTING RTS - if  RTS dont take seriously our pleas, letters, calls and petition.
